Do people really think that this will actually lead to LESS roleplaying and more plot? Really?

V pushed himself into the center of a narrative delay. Had he let the BBEAristocrat have his way, that could have happened in the background while they went off to save the world. The only way he gets away with this is if Elan -- Elan! -- is able to keep a secret. No, there's going to be a trial/Durkon lecture in the future...

Awesome.

And if only Haley were there, to yell at V for sending 25,000+ gp market price worth of armor overboard. Then everyone would look at her, and she'd add "...and how dare you just go and kill someone like that, uh, too."

Killing an evil person does not make one good. Killing with good intentions does not make the act good.

At best, this pushes V to Chaotic Neutral. In my opinion, killing an enemy who surrendered, was bound, and was not fighting back, despite being evil, is an evil act. Given V's other actions, I'd say this pushes V squarely into Evil.

I'd say V's still on the cusp of neutral, but only just barely. Kubota was just as dangerous bound and captive as he was running free, or just about. He would have tied the group up in complicated legal proceedings for an indeterminate amount of time (they've already experienced the Azure City Justice System firsthand, and V knew what he'd be in for), which would keep them from their Epic Goal. Not for nothing, Kubota would be in his element in such a trial, and would very likely have gotten away with his crimes. Which he had confessed to.

It's a thin justification. He freely admitted his evil deeds, and was in the process of spelling out how he intended to get away with it, but V didn't Dustpan him for that...he Dustpanned him because he was an inconvenience.

V's teetering on the edge of the Slippery Slope. S/he needs Roy around to keep him/her grounded.

Prestige Class

I been looking through source books and can't find it. What prestige class is Kubota talking about that lets you beat magical lie detection?
