The other thought coming from this was that he was already under a lot of physical and psychological pain. He hasn't meditated because every time he does, he's drawn back into the only other failure that has guilt him, from the battle. Then comes the Dragon's revenge.

So, in his mind, what's a little more pain?

(And watch Burlew switch to, oh, say, Elan to see what hijinks he's up to.)

S/he stuttered. That is so cheating.

And, I knew there had to be another plot twist coming. Said so right here, to the last person who tried to tell me the four words were "Disintegrate. Gust of Wind.".

S/He had to say the words to "the right extraplanar being". Not just as a personal monologue.

I think "I cannot fail again!", spoken to the imp and triggering the contact, best qualify.

No, it was just "the right being." Nothing in the prophecy said it had to be extraplanar (or anyone else).

I noticed that V did indeed assume that the payment would not be required until adter V's death, as has been predicted in earlier threads here. Of course, there's no guarantee that that is what the fiends will actually do.

I guess its save to assume that each of the limitations mentioned will matter in the next few comics.

I guess the dragon will kill Vs family and V can't wish them back to live because of the no divine spell limitation. And a important spell will of course run out when the splice ends.
As for the third limitation, V will probably not have enough XP to cast an important spell after the splice.

PS: I am the only one who thinks that the dragon is partially justified to take revenge? Of course she overdoes it in a very evil way, but generally V is the one who started it. (Thats the problem I see when someone worships deities of revenge in the game. Most of the time many creatures have justified reasons to take revenge against teh characters).

A lot of people think that some measure of revenge is justified (but the dragon takes it too far). Personally I think it is more tragic if V actually saves his family, thus satisfying his delusion that his arcane strength can solve any issue, only to be addicted to the soul splice and do anything to retain its power. Then when his mate witnesses the horrible necromancies and summons V uses to defeat the dragon and his children, more terrified of him than the dragon, try to hide from him, we will see whether others can agree that the end justifies the means as much as he does.

GUYS I THINK BELKAR IS REALLY CHAOTIC GOOD.

No seriously, Rich put every point he could without having one character say "I BET THIS FULFILLS SOME KIND OF DESTINY" to hint that this was the major thing. Do you need him to post on the forums saying "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU" like he did with the Belkar thing?
