I got a good chuckle out of the last panel.
Looks like they are going to assume that the Linear Guild has already put V out of the fight again, so they aren't going to be searching for him.
Depending on how V's doing down in that pit, and what else is happening down there, V might be the one to find the gate and solve the mystery while the Order and the Guild are engaging in desert warfare.

I was much more amused by the first panel: Haley standing on an island in the puddle of acid, completely dry. I'll admit, though, it would have been much better if Belkar hadn't called it out in a later panel. Subtle humor is best, I think.
