D&D 4E OOTS is going 4E! Edit: Wrong it is 100% NOT! [merged]

Wow, the decision of not going 4E (nor staying only 3.5) is awesome!
Telling his story while poking at both systems seems the best option.

Rich Burlew rocks!
Indeed. The best of two worlds! Nah, 3 worlds: poking fun at D&D 3, poking fun at D&D 4, and a compelling storyline!

Hmm... That got me thinking, has the characters ever acknowledged they know something of OTHER P&Ps. So have they ever brought up a WoD, CoC, Exalted, etc. term or joke?

He did an earlier one about half-orcs and... there was something else, too, I think.

I am glad that he posted clearly whether he was switching to 4e or not: He's not, he'll just make occasional jokes about it, but at this point the story is more important than just lampooning a game system.

Those of you not currently involved in playing Dungeons & Dragons may or may not be aware that Wizards of the Coast is set to release a new version of the rules—the “Fourth Edition” rules—in less than a month. If the details of such things are of little interest to you, feel free to skip reading this overly verbose news post. You won’t miss much.

Ever since the announcement was made last August, I have gotten roughly 1.3 billion emails asking about whether The Order of the Stick will “convert” to the new system. It is a question I have deliberately avoided answering, much to the consternation of those who like to ask such questions. I will be answering it now: ...

Hmmmmmmm.........

Perhaps you should also have quoted the part where he says--three separate times--that this is because he's more interested in keeping his story consistent, and not due to any distaste for the new rules? Just to prevent people from drawing the wrong conclusion?
