OPEN CALL: Charity PDF for Katrina Victims

Okie doke, here's the new list of needed illustrations:

1. halfling and a dwarf insulting each other in a tavern ('doing the dozens')

2. half-elf busty barwench and a dwarven shieldmaiden listening to the argument

3. fantasy version of the woman in 'Little Queen of Spades' a famous blues song:
Pick a female from any non-human race in the SRD. No celestials, please. She should be sexy and self-assured, and, well...petite.

"Now, she is a little queen of spades
and the men will not let her be
Mmm mmm mmm, she is the little queen of spades
and the men will not let her be
Everytime she makes a spread
hoo, fair brown, cold chill just runs all over me"

7. 1 Modern npc:

Anne-Marie

Anne-Marie is a six-foot woman with short, sensibly cropped blond hair. She likes sweaters and slacks at home, lab coats when she’s working, and well-tailored business suits everywhere else. She prefers glasses over contacts, since she believes they make her look more professional.

7. PrC: Juggler
"Jugglers are wandering performers who pride themselves on their physical performance skills. They are renowned for their accuracy with thrown objects and uncanny hand-eye coordination. Their acrobatic talents and agility are as useful for infiltrating as they are for entertaining, which makes them a welcome addition to any adventuring party.

Rogues and bards make excellent jugglers, while other classes find the juggler a difficult prestige class to enter. Some fighters and martial classes focused upon thrown weapons may find the juggler a welcome addition to their arsenal.

Jugglers can be encountered as lone performers or in juggling troupes, but no matter when or where they are encountered their juggling feats and flairs are unforgettable. "

8. A new monster - Greck!
Greck (this word is singular and plural) have just enough intelligence to be useful but not enough to be dangerous to their creator. Standing at just over 3 feet in height, the greck appears to be a humanoid covered in a thick layer of moss, barbs, and mud. It has no mouth or ears, but does bear a pair of eyes in the form of sunken black pits lit dimly by a malicious crimson glow.

Again, any race in the SRD is suitable. Send a rough sketch at low res first to siretokkor@yahoo.com, then upon approval send hi res (300dpi) tif or jpg to the same email.

There's the updated art list.

I have to say, there's a noticeable deficit of sexy female character sketches in this book. Come on folks, rise to the occasion!

Queen of spades

Has anyone gone after the art for the "Queen of spades" yet?

If not, what are the restrictions? Line, gray, or full color?

Thanks

No restrictions - your choice, just keep in mind for the POD version it will be grayscale, so easy on the dark colors and keep the contrast high if you do color. Also, if you're doing an image that's close to 8.5 x 11 scan or create it at 200 dpi, if it's smaller than that make it 300 dpi.

Thanks! I was really hoping someone would do this particular pic.

Deb: Can we get an update on the project? Did I miss an announcement or something?

Hey folks, sorry for the delay.

Well, we will be closing this call this evening. We are waiting right now for a few stragglers to get us promised material, and a few artists need to get us some art as well. We will keep accepting art pretty much up to the last minute, as there is a dearth of it in this book. We have passed the 150 page mark and might actually do better than 200 once all the promised work comes in. Three of four sections are off to editors, and a couple of those sections have already made it back to us. We are really hoping to get this out by the end of October, hopefully sooner.

We would really like to thank everyone who helped contribute to this book. The funds we raise will be more than welcome by the people of Louisiana, New Orleans, Missisippi, and Texas. I think we have all picked up a great deal of good karma on this. We are very proud of what we've done, and I hope that all of you are as well.

More thanks than you can know,

Sean C. Frolich and Deb Balsam

Cathix,
I e-mailed you but never received a reply as to what type of work was still need for the project. You had mentioned the need for an NPC, so if you need material I am work on a low-level magical arson investigator gone bad. Also, inspired by the templates for hauntings in the latest issue of The Dragon, I'm writing up an entity haunt centered around the ghost of an African priest sent to America as a slave. If you think these may fit, let me know...
