Personally, I think they set their video standard requirement too high for most stations. I think it was mentioned that The CW were only interested in any available local free-air TV station that are broadcasting HD signal over a large area. KFVE only work well in Oahu and Maui but not the other islands (they'd have to petition to FCC in order to increaese signal strength and range).
