The geniality of the creators alone is a good add for this.

And realistic combat that flows quickly does sound like everything a grim-n-gritty GM could possibly desire. :)

It is. But be warned TROS combat can be deadly. Armor helps (a lot) Shields help (a lot) but if you fight, well there is a good chance you die.

It sin't like D&D where fighting often is the plot, in Riddle you avoid combat and work on what your character believes in.

Kind of a nice change if you can get players to cooperate.

If that's all you want though, you can just not hand out extra Hit Dice in D&D. There's quite a bit more difference between the games' mechanics than just deadliness.
