Opportunity vs. Spellcasting

If there is, I guarantee you it won't be specific to disrupting spells. It'll work for any power, including a ranger shooting his bow.

Fair enough.

Although... I imagine there might be special paragon path (or the like) mage-killer powers that are more effective against casters, and/or special counter-spell powers.

I'm not sure, since I don't think that monster spell like powers are marked as "Spell" or "Arcane" so feats or abilities that only work against specific power sources wouldn't be very useful.

wow, would be awesome if you could play a wiz with counterspells.

Counterspell Wizard Attack x
You use your mastery of the arcane to counter a spell.
Encounter ◊ Arcane, Implement, Spell
Immediate Interrupt ◊ Ranged
10
Target: One Creature
Attack: Int vs. Will
Hit: When an enemy casts a spell, you counter it and the spell has no effect.

That would work against other PC's, but monster stats don't seem to have spell tags. Not any that I have noticed anyway.

Damn. You're right.

Monster powers don't give sources, rather only type: Weapon, Fear, Force, etc.

So they'd have to use a different keyword, so Ranged, Area, etc.

There goes that theory.

Still... interrupts are possible...

Because some characters need to have the ability for their attacks to be disrupted, and some shouldn't.

Why? With Spells/Prayers/Exploits all having about the same power curve now, why do we have to continue to punish people who happen to chose Spells instead of Exploits?

Punitive reparations for historical injustices, perhaps?

Anyway, thanks for everyone's input. I think it's clear that spells are NOT interrupted, because it doesn't seem to say anywhere that they should be.
