Orgins: It has started

RPGA game in the afternoon, Legacy of the Green Regent. That was a good time and we had a fun GM. AS usual though the RPGA had the wrong events running compared to what had been in the registration book. LGR21 and LGR22 were running instead of LGR22 and LGR23 as listed. Standard Operating Procedure for the RPGA I think... ;) That evening we played an open game a guy from our normal group was running. D&D game out of Dungeon. It was a fun time as well.

I was running games for the RPGA most of the weekend (mostly Eberron and Living Greyhawk), and everything seemed to be going very smoothly, other than the major hosing that GAMA did by losing both printing and tracking capability for event tickets.
You might have seen me, I was in the giant black hat with the feathers. I also turned up at the Looney room a few times, and indeed spoke with Hellhound there.
All in all, a good convention. :)

They're saying huge numbers for registration. I saw lines all morning - up until around 3pm the registration area was packed. Origins is estimating about 15,000 attendance at this point.. but that was early numbers from the press contact.

I also got the feel the Dealer room was smaller and I think a lot of that has to do with the lack of display by Wizards. It's funny how little product and space they are taking at the con. White Wolf is bigger and this year their site is smaller than the last two years.

There's no way there was 15000 people there. I went 2 years ago, and they said there were 12000, and I went last year, and they said there were 14000 despite the obviously fewer people. I heard there were ~ 7500 people this year, and even that seems like a high estimate.

There were no crowds. Two years ago, it was a chore to walk thru the lobby. There were so many folks it was difficult to walk around. This year, not so.

It was still a good time. I was mostly at the Reaper Minis gaming area. I did get a couple runs thru the dealer hall, but didn't see much I really wanted. I got some really neat pirate ships from Flying Tricycle games that I can't wait to put together.
