It is only a minor reference, but Kara-Tur (and Maztica, Al-Qadim and Realmspace) gets a mention (and appears on a map) in the Beyond Faerun section of 3e's Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (pages 230-231).

There are also minor mentions in the part of the Geography section devoted to The Unapproachable East (pages 199-210) and Kara-Tur traders may be mentioned elsewhere in the book (possibly giving a good idea of their trade routes).
Indeed there are, and both of those sources are already listed in the Miscellaneous gaming products section, Big Mac. ;)

At least the Jakandor guide will be a bit easier! :p
Jakandor warranted only a heading in the 2nd Edition Guide, I'm afraid. A true Jakandor collector will also want to note that there is a Jakandor adventure listed in the Adventurer's Guild adventures section of that Guide.

The Collector's Guides cover both print and web articles, but which Kara-Tur articles are you referring to Dragonhelm?

This month is a Kara-Tur theme for Dragon and Dungeon. Only one article has been released thus far - Xiousing.

So keep watching through the month for other articles.

And thanks again for the great job on these collector guides!

Heh heh. Look closely -- those articles have been listed in this Guide since this month's ToC for Dragon/Dungeon was published on October 1st. All the relevant Guides get updated with upcoming DDI content at the beginning of each month, at which point I also add in the hyperlinks for articles from the previous month.

My pleasure! Maybe I'll finally get the rather painful Forgotten Realms Guide published this month...

I believe you may have misunderstood what I was trying to get at. I was referring to two sections from Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (from 3e) not Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide (from 4e).

One of the sections of FRCS that mentions Kara-Tur is the one on The Unapproachable East. I didn't mean The Unapproachable East (the sourcebook). I meant part of FRCS's Geography chapter.

While I'm at it, there are several references to Oriental Adventures/Kara-Tur space travellers in the Spelljammer Campaign Setting. Off the top of my head, these products have the most stuff about OA/KT:
  • AD&D Adventures in Space boxed set,
  • SJR2 Realmsapce and
  • War Captain's Companion boxed set.

If you consider Monks and that such of thing part of Oriental Adventures, they also had a section devoted to 2e Monks...I believe it was in AD&D 2e Players Options: Skills and Powers, but I'm uncertain. I'd have to check to make sure, maybe someone else has a better memory. I never used them or those rules, but others may have.

I also never used kits but I think some of the Complete books had kits for Samurai, or other oriental items.

Ah, gotcha, my mistake! :o

I just took a look at those sections (Beyond Faerûn and The Unapproachable East) of the FRCS, and I while they do touch on Kara-Tur, I don't quite think there is enough Oriental Adventure content to justify including it in this Collector's Guide. Ditto the Spelljammer reference, I'm afraid. Although there is certainly some Kara-Tur/Spelljammer overlap in several Spelljammer products, I don't think those really belong in this particular Collector's Guide.

Here's a fun little reference:

In the Forgotten Realms novel Once Around the Realms, Volo and his friends spending some time in Kara-Tur. While there, they meet both Mad Monkey and Dragon Claw (from OA5: Mad Monkey vs. the Dragon Claw).

It's a comparatively small part of the book, but a pretty cool one.
