Now I try and like Koontz's stuff, I loved Watchers & Phantoms and was amused by The Taken, but IMHO he goes too far into Massmarket Feelgood in too many stories.

If there was an author who stand to be a little more jaded, IMHO it would be Koontz. {see Family Guy scene where Brian runs over koontz multiple times]
