Looks like Jennell Jaquays, formerly Paul Jaquays, is selling off her art to pay for gender reassignment expenses. Great stuff here!

"What I will be selling are the set of interior illustrations I (as Paul Jaquays) created for the Newhon section (Fafhrd & Grey Mouser) of the AD&D Deities & Demigods book, back in 1980. These are black and white ink illustrations rendered over my blue pencil drawings. The original set included Fafhrd, the Mouser, Ningauble, Sheelba, a quadrapedal killer whale, Death, Hate, the Rat God, the Cold Woman, the Old Gods, a god on a rack, a female god with a harpy in the background, a scheming bearded god, a lightly anthropomorphized spider god, and a ghoul (transparent naked female with visible skeleton)."
The cost isn't cheap, but it's nifty that this is available after all these years. Thread here:

Thanks for the link Piratecat. Although as much as I would love some of the original artwork from my favourite book of all time, I suspect it will be priced out of my meagre range. :.-(

I wonder if Jennell's best way forward would be with ebay auctions whereby every piece is set a minimum price by her?

Either way I wish Jennell all the best and thank her for her artistic contributions to that amazing book. :)

I've been looking for some sample images online. Why exactly did we stop having such pictures for our D&D books?
Even Wayne Reynolds is perfectly capable at making pictures with that great atmosphere, he did a lot of them back in the day when it was fashionable.

Yeah no way I could afford (well justify) the cost but an ebay auction with reserve set would be a better idea IMO.

I would really love one though!

Hey Yora! :)

Do a google image search for "Nehwon Pantheon".

Black and white art seems to be frowned upon by the 'bigger' publishers, which is a shame. Not that I dislike colour art, but (modern rpg) colour art typically tries to imitate photographs whereas black and white art has more artistic character and personality...if that makes sense.

Well I think he always turns in a great piece. But I fondly remember his b&w splatbook art.
