Origins was awesome

Just got back from Origins and had a blast...although I probably spent to much money, but hey, it was fun. Got to harass Hal from Thunderhead and AV from WotC. Anthony didn't find my question of why he wasn't reviewing submissions amusing though. :D

good to hear, paul. glad you had a good time. someday, perhaps, i'll make it down there.
This was my first game convention ever, and Columbus is only 4-5 hours from my home. Thankfully, I have friends in Columbus, so I didn't have to shell out hotel fees.

My gaming group is talking about burning me in effigy, since I was the only one who could manage the time/money to go.

So...

...was the 'WotC Announcement' that of their retail stores being sold?
I didn't talk to AV about business. I did ask about how they were amazed by the volume of submissions. Silly me didn't realize that Charles Ryan would be there, otherwise I would've brought my WoT book for signing. Oh well, live and learn.

Origins 2003

This is the address where they had the 2002 information: http://www.originsgames.com

They'll probably update it sometime in the near future for next year's Con as they were pretty prompt in updating it last year if I recall. Also, last year they were giving out information at Gen Con for Origins.

Hope this helps :)
