I don't know where you get this information. The Races of Faerun book was very specific on racial hit dice and the orog doesn't have them.

Orogs do NOT have hit dice in RoF. Kershek is right. They get good stat mods (+6 str!!!) natural armor, some elemental resistance, etc, all for a level adjustment of +2. Its pretty black and friggin' white, with no ambiguity at all.

No hit dice, ECL +2.

5th level Orog Fighter. ECL 7. 5d10 hit dice.

10th level Orog Rogue. ECL 12. 10d6 hit dice.

That is not true you can drop the HD for any humaniod with 1 HD regardless of LA.
