OSRIC setting?

Hmmmm, sounds like a nice opportunity for a publisher....

For my own needs, I settled on the Perilous Lands as published for Powers & Perils. This necessitated some extensive house-ruling insofar as character creation (e.g., some races not available, new classes from OSRIC Unearthed, new class restrictions based on culture, etc), but I feel that it will pay off. Notably, humans become much more interesting than in baseline OSRIC/AD&D. I actually had to remove demi-human level limits to make playing a demi-human look attractive by comparison. ;)

Indeed. I plan on compiling my Hawkmoor material as a free PDF download for use with OSRIC , but it will probably be a while (converting longhand text from notebooks into a presentable PDF isn't easy).

Points of Light and Points of Light 2 were written with Old School D&D in mind despite the 4e reference. The settings in Points of Light are better for a campaign just starting out.

They are basically 100 mile by 75 mile with 5 mile hexes with a variety of locale and encounter keyed by the hex number. Similar to the format to the Wilderlands of Judges Guild.

Please keep me posted, James: Hawkmoor sounds interesting.

Will do! I bought about $60 worth of old-school stock art over the last week, so I have an impetus to move forward with the project. :) I want to keep the initial offering down to 30 pages or less, much like the Greyhawk folio. I figure that I can build on that. Also, note that Hawkmoor is actually a kingdom in a much larger world (Evorgrath), much like Greyhawk is a city of Oerth. Most of my own ZIP campaigns (and a few AD&D campaigns) took place in Hawkmoor proper, but I suspect that a "top down" approach works better for an old school product.
