Bah. That wasn't an important spoiler, and maybe it won't even be in the movie. Something important would be, like, the fact that in the final part Sauron releases a legion of half-orc half-stormtroopers with blaster rifles... oops

No movie will ever do true justice for any book, they can't.....it's sort of like saying that at the end of Return of the Jedi the Ewoks danced.

The Ewoks danced! Damn it, now you've gone and spoiled that movie for me too! :)

Seriously though, the statement about movies not doing justice to a book is absolutely true. I'm sure that everyone could name dozens of examples. One that sticks out in my mind is First Blood, which was an excellent cat-and-mouse thriller novel set in the deep south during the Vietnam war with an ordinary looking guy who turned out to be not so ordinary. The Stallone film totally ruined every part of it by changing the location, time period, and totally mis-casting the main character.

Ok, but not every movie done from a book has to be a total fiasco. Look at LotR, or at many other examples. Maybe you can't quite make a movie as good as the book, but you can have a good approximation.

OK, I fully agree. LotR was an excellent adaptation of the book. Other true-to-the-original examples that come to mind are Contact and The Hunt for Red October.

Personally, I thought the Dungeons and Dragons movie was a terrible adaptation of the PHB.
