[OT?] Anyone here ever play CHILL?

I loved CHILL, but I also like to have my players in a panic and fearful of whats going to happen next.. Mwaahahahaaahahaha.. ::cough cough:: sorry

I get to do it from time to time in D&D but don't like to over use it...

My brother ran a fun Chill campaign for a while, and I still have the core rules. It's flavor of horror is very different, IMO. Cthulhu without the assurance of massive PC deaths.

And while I love my CoC, I love it for different reasons. Chill was a 'Hunter: The Redemption' before it's time, with a secret world organization bent on stopping the supernatural. Templates were great for one-off play as needed, but chargen was robust enough to create nice characters also.

I don't really remember the mechanics much. It was a long time ago. :)

I remember this one. It was called Chock (Shock) in Sweden. It was pretty neat but the ability scores were a bit off.

-Hey, just roll 6d10+20 to generate a score between 26 and 80!
Wierd. :D

Now, what was the name of the organization the PCs belonged to?

I played the original boxed version of Chill. I ran one adventure that drove my ex-AD&D DM nuts. His character was a psychic woman & took a bunch of sleeping pills in a haunted cave. Of course, my mishievious spirits gave her nightmares. The other two players had a blast with the adventure.

I eventually sold the game later since no one wanted to play anymore (big mistake). However, I did keep the Elvira supplement.

We played a lot of Chill back in high school. It was cool, the feel of the games was great fun. "Ok, we've got a lot of undead up here, load up the shotguns...". BLAST!!!!

I wish I still had the boxed set.
