(OT) Are gamers close minded?

Personally, I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside. Give them a sense ... of pride to make it easier. Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be.

And Tom, Mormon's rule. Do the Catholics teach that you can travel to other planets and hang with God? Now that's cool religion, man.

If the question is actually why did I start (and now Russ continues) the policy of closing religious and political threads on these forums, the answer is because I personally don't like them. It's all about me, me, me, you see, something I attempted to make clear as often as possible when I was running the site lo these many years ago. It's not just that political and religious threads are not entertaining, they're the OPPOSITE of entertaining. They create more work, more frustration, more aggravation than they are worth. They are not fun. So, in an attempt to make these forums focused and fun and manageable re: moderation by volunteer mods and admins, we have a line drawn where the discussion can go and where it can't. Fortunately, there are many other places one could go if one wanted to discuss politics or religion with fellow gamers. RPG.net and Nutkinland are two that come to mind.

These are my opinions only; however, Russ and I see eye-to-eye on this topic.

You do believe in something. You believe that there is _not_ one exclusivly true belief system.

Don't tell me what I believe.

I only said that I'm not willing to state what is "true," what is "not true," or express any "beliefs" whatsoever. There may indeed be "one exclusively true belief system."

But what is it? I suppose you'll tell me? I defy you to tell me the "truth" and prove that it's not just your belief, your understanding, your OPINION.

Everything is subjective, smetzger. Want to dance?
