[OT] Baseball playoffs

garyh:

Did I really mention the size of either team's market more than once? I usually try not to rely on one argument too heavily. I apologize. The A's and Twins have several notable accomplishments for a team with any revenue base.

Or, perhaps, you've heard small-market as a buzzword far too often and are sick of it? If so, please give my arguments a second chance, on their merits rather than your prejudice.

Pardon, Cutty Sark, I was a bit harsh. I agree, the Twins and A's have done well this season.

Perhaps I'm still a tad bitter that the A's edged the Angels out in the West. ;)

And hey, I'm pretty sure that the Angels, A's, and Twins put together just about equal the Yankees payroll. :)

All I can say is, baseball is the third most boring game in the multiuniverse, right after bowling and golf, at least to watch.

Hey, you are forgetting one of the greatest sports to watch, Curling!

Pardon me, Captain First Amendment!!

I can't imagine why bringing up one of the darkest turns of events in club history would upset an Angels fan. Hey, let's talk about Lyman Bostock while we're at it...

This is exactly why I don't post often here or anywhere else for that matter. People LOVE to interpret a single sentence and run all over the place with.

Listen closely garyh... I'll type s-l-o-w-l-y so even you can understand. You said you were Angels' fan. Not I. You mentioned the 86 series indirectly. Not I. I was merely commenting on what I thought of that series. The 1986 postseason will always be one of the most memorable in my opinion.

Donnie Moore had his demons. He had well-documented problems before and after he threw that fateful pitch to Dave Henderson. I'm a baseball FANATIC who happenes to like RPGs. I'd wager almost everyone else here is either: a) people who couldn't care less about the game or b) RPG FANATICs who happen to like baseball.

Please don't protray yourself as the ENWorld Moral Compass. I don't believe I or anyone else here asked you to fill that role. 90-95% of people who read this thread probably don't have the slighest idea who Donnie Moore is or what's his story.

Once again... I was referencing a series you mentioned. I felt sorry for him then as I felt sorry for Bill Buckner a series later.

I'm done with you now... You can go back and do whatever it is you do.

Baseball is my first love. But I hate it when people treat it as life or death. Now back to actual thread. Someone asked for predictions. I'd love it for the Braves could win their 2nd title during this remarkable run. But from an outside view; it be nice if the Cards could win it all. That team has been through a lot this season.

No doubt. Why is he so uptight?

Anyway it's like this

Yankees over Angels in 5
Athletics over Twins in 4

Braves over Giants in 5
Cards over D'Backs in 3

Yankees over Athletics in 7
Cards over Braves in 6

Cards over Yankees in 6

Yes I live in STL. ;)

Boy, who spit in AlphaOmega's soup?

what does that even mean??? I suggest we take further discussions offlist as I'm sure no one wants to hear anymore of this. And...

All I can say is whatever. Sorry if I attacked your boy or something. I should know my place. You after all have 500+ posts and I only less than 20. I should have known better. Sorry if I trespassed on your private club. I guess I'm not allowed to take a stance or provide supporting facts. What the heck was I thinking???

Funny thing, I thought these boards had some of the best people around... They still do... You two maybe are just having a bad day.

I am a baseball fanatic who happens to like rpg's.

oh yeah, giants in 5 over braves

giants in 7 over yanks in the series

(what else would you expect?)
