[OT] Blues Clues

My daughter is watching Blues Clues as I check out the boards.

I haven't watched the show in a long time, so I was wondering how Joe's Spot skill was compared to Steve's. Steve was friggin' blind. -5 on Spot checks, easy.

Yes Christian Walker Joe is as blind but at least he admits to it which is the first step.

My daughter watches blue, clifford and many other cartoons. She doesn'tget barney, tellies or any other dribble. If I can't watch it with her then it is to benial and condescending.

What gets me is the internal logic in some shows is still stupid. She has a Little People video that just un-nerves me.

Okay I accept the circus animals got their vehicles stuck in the mud. But why does the kid flying the helicopter drive the lead truck while the monkey flies the hellicopter to get it out. Its the Kid's helicopter shouldn't he be piloting and shouldn't the monkey (established as the driver before) be driving. What did the monkey do time in Nam and learn how to fly combat choppers or what. Aaarrggghh

I'm joking... not really it does bug me but not that much.

I'v got a truly terrifying fact for you: in the US, Teletubbies is Dubbed. Even the babies laugh is made to sound more American! I kid you not!

I'm terrified, frankly. Teletubbies just wouldn't be the same without those plummy english tones intoning "Teletubbies!" at the beginning.

Now, we don't really watch TV... We don't get cable. We don't even have rabbit ears for the networks. We have an extraordinarily extensive video library, however.

As is Bear in the Big Blue House. Im almost 23 (on the 29th) and i watch that for ONE reason. The guy who deos bears' voice did Magelleons voice from Eureka's Castle (also another GREAT show)

And don't forget that the voice of Ray, the sun, is done by the same guy who used to do the 7-UP commercials...

BitBBH is my 3-year-old daughter's favorite show. We have all the episodes on videotape. The Otters are great...

"Fun is our middle name!"
"No... Fun is YOUR middle name. Mine is Angelica."
"Oh, right."

Disney movies, and Sesame Street are always favorites.

My 4-year-old son has a fondness for National Geographic specials (we get a new one in the mail every month)... The real ones, not the ones made for kids... He especially likes the ones about dinosaurs or wildlife.

No Teletubbies.
No Barney.
Never.

My daughter is watching Blues Clues as I check out the boards. Every episode, Joe gets a letter. When he opens it, he says, it's "from our friends". Is there anybody else here who wishes that, just once, the letter would be from our enemies?

I Liked Steve better, so as far as I'm concerned Joe can get a letter from Ted Kaczynski :D

Another thing, doesn't anybody think that, just once, Bob the builder should just totally mack on Wendy??

They're saving that for the SPICE network :p

Why is Dora the Explorer always wandering around in the wilderness? I mean, she's a little girl! She can't even get into her backpack on her own! Where are her parents?

I hate the songs! It's maddening walking around all day with "I'm the map" running through your head!

Sorry. Been watching too much children's television. Don't get me started on Teletubbies (my daughters favorite). ??

It's ok, I used to find Teletubbies and Barney to be almost intollerable. But then i discoveded that when I needed a break from the Prince of Darkness, Barney really was my friend :)

If there's a place you want to go, I'm the one you need to know cuz, I'm the map, I'm the map, I'm the map...

I'm the map.

Damn straight! We happen to have that Little People video too. I think we have made it "dissappear" because it drove me and my husband nuts. I think it was the narrator who really did it. Like the sheep and corn one... "Careful Michael, rainbows are slippery." Argh!

But anyway, we have Molly, 5, and Sean, 2 1/2. We watch NIckelodeon and Disney - Bear in the Big Blue house (I love it too), Bob the builder, Stanley, Dora. And we also love PBS - Betweem the Lions, Bookworm Bunch, Liberty's Kids, and especially Brian Jaques' Redwall Series. My Kids really love Redwall.
