Let me just add to the kudos surrounding the game AI.
The monster AI is relatively good -- reinforcements if any are available, ranged support for melee monsters, a bit of actual tactics from the smarter monsters -- but the PARTY AI is incredible.
Mules will actually run away from the party a short distance when the group is under attack and then return when the party is safe. Characters will respond if another character gets attacked. The options for your party are simple to use and understand, making it a breeze to switch people to the defensive if necessary. Healing is nearly automatic if you have the right spells armed, as the nature magic user will heal each person in the party as they go below half health.
The skills system is a breeze -- just pick what you want a character do and have them practice it. They'll quickly learn the basics before progressing more slowly to advanced skill.
It's not another Baldur's Gate in terms of storyline and things to do. It's a relatively linear game. But it is the most fun dungeon romp I've ever seen. For inspiration and ease of play, it's as revolutionary as the original point'n'click dungeon crawlers...
By the way -- the fact that you only drink as much of a potion as you need is just plain brilliant. You'd think someone else would have come up with that idea by now...
