I am SO alone here...

Guns N' Roses.

The best rock band ever.

By the way, I've heard some bootlegs of their new stuff, and they will be back in business once that album comes out...

Buckethead, their new guitarist, is an Epic Level Musician, with 30 ranks in perform :)

In no order:

XTC ( I only saw one other vote for this group, where are all you Brits?)
Greenday
Ben Harper (I'll get crucified for this, but he's one of the best guitar players out there, and his songs are entertaining and have meaning)
Weezer
Older Peter Gabriel (though I love the Barry Williams song's mocking of American "culture" and will be buying the new CD next week)
Smithereens
Devo (perhaps the greatest cover ever is their version of "Satisfaction")

I know I'm missing someone here, but I should get back to work....

Tear the Roof Off

I love Parliament in all of its many variations and incarnations.

And while I love a lot of other things. There is just nothing else that I have enountered that will have a larger place in my heart.

Ceptin maybe James Brown.

Don't know why, aside from old school Funk I tend to love silly punk and rock-a-billy.

Also I will defend a good film soundtrack as a legitimate way to listen to music.

Fight Club. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Toy Story. Pulp Fiction.

Those are fine musical experiences.

You know, I really have to thank you for mentioning that.. I had no idea he had a new CD coming out (it's been what, 10 years since Us?)... But more than that.. my dearest father is also a big fan of his, and has said that it may be possible for the two of us to head out and catch one of the concerts in the tour now that we're aware of it. :D That would be so coool... ;)

you really should give the 23 track opus, the fragile a try. it is solid. and as far as the mtv generation liking it, they hated it. so give it a go. i think you may well like it.

broken and fixed are incredible. and nothing bad can be said about pretty hate machine. one of the best albums of 1989.

and if i insulted or offended you, i apologize.

as far as manson, i try to pretend that the band never ever existed. it makes my life easier. :D

I might just have a listen ;). And don't worry about me being insulted or offended, this board isn't about that, and I wasn't clear enough in my post I think (and it was late... at least this time I didn't post drunk! :D). hehe.
