Hah, then it's OSU by a huge margin, the news was running a story this morning saying all the rabid OSU guys were out there buying up everything not nailed down.
1) Ohio State is a much larger college than Miami. It has far more alumni, and so far more people to buy tickets.
2) There's a lot more incentive to go to Arizona in January if you live in Ohio, rather than Florida.
3) Almost anyone who's ever lived in Ohio and cares about college football has a little bit of Ohio State fannishness (that's why I'm a Buckeyes fan for this game, at least). Floridians are dived among Florida, FSU, and Miami (with apologies to fans of mid-major I-A teams in Ohio and Florida).
In old Ohio there's a team that's known throughout the land
Eleven warriors brave and bold who's fame will ever stand
And when the ball goes over, our cheers will reach the sky
Ohio Field will hear again the Buckeye Battle Cry!
Drive, Drive on down the field
Men of the scarlet and gray
Don't let them through that line
We've got to win this game today
COME ON OHIO!
Smash through to victory
We cheer you as you go!
Our honor defend we will fight to the end for OHIO!
Hey, another poster in Tempe. Whereabouts are you? I'm by the 60 and McClintock.
My folks get tickets to the Fiesta Bowl every year for the past 7-8 years. Same seats, too: 8th row on the goal line (6 seats). Very nice. I love the Fiesta Bowl season, and I love seeing the fans of the teams come in swarms; they're always in a great mood (and spend liberally). We may have a gay major, but good god can this city rake it in. GO OHIO!
