[OT] Happy Pie Day!

I just figured out why it is PI day. :)

The date is 3.14 (if you use the US format) and of course 1:59:27 is the next several digits of Pi.

Of course you can always see my post above for some cheesecake if you don't like pie. ;)

As the only person I know who knows Pi to that many digits, I am ashamed that I did not catch the inference in the OP. *Smack*

Ah well. I'll drown my shame in a Chicken Pot Pie.

You got it! Although I don't know what I think about the blasphemy in the second part of the email.

"Not liking pie" indeed. Whoever heard of such a thing?

Too bad this has nothing to do with the ever-popular Orc & Pie :D!! Instead, it's just math. But for those of you interested in a fun test of your grade school education, go to www.msn.com On their front page there's a link to a test given to 8th graders in Illinois to assess their basic math skills.

Curious is it actually national pie day is is this just some clever math joke.

We're trying to make it National Pie Day, and it sounds like other great minds have had the same idea. Currently, though, it's not a bank holiday.

Join the movement! In pie there is strength!

Hey, I took the test and got them all right. :) I didn't even have to ask for help.

Magna Cum Laude!
You clearly have a handle on what the Illinois State Board of Education thinks an 8th-grader should know. You got 19/19 correct.

 What the bejeebus is up with this?

Oh, well. That might be National Pie Day, and I'll gladly celebrate it next year. But as we all know, Pie isn't defined by any country, and today is hereby known as Universal Pie Day.
