[ot] Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

First, despite all my antics, I did watch most of the game.

Reaper, you say no one would believe it if a sports player confessed the game was rigged... and yet you are all to willing to believe it with no evidence at all. And no, despite your "facts" you cite, there are no "facts". Because you think something look scripted does not make it so, because your thinks it is an obvious ploy does not make it so, and because you think that is the only way the patriots could win does not make it so.

No, the fact is, people (at least a certain, fairly large group) is ALWAYS willing to believe any scandelous theory they hear put forth, evidence or no. So if a player came forth, some people WOULD believe him. It would at least be tried. And like someone else said, there are simply too many variables that depend on humans in your theory, and humans are not prone to act that way. Humans don't want to throw the game of their life for a media stunt, for example. And although 9 out of 10 players might go along with it, somewhere down the line there would be a weak link.

I think regardless of what he says, he really thinks everything is a conspiricy, I think he thinks D-Day was scripted and Hitler is a fictional character, I think he thinks the nasa landing on the moon was fake and that people "really" haven't even made it into space, I think he thinks the world being round is a lie, that it's flat and the sun is pulled by a chariot across the sky, and I think he thinks we're all fake govenment conspricy robots sent by "the man" with the sole perpose of tring to use the internet to convence him that the pats really did win the superbowl.
Thats what I think. :)

You're still "celebrating", aren't you? :D

An open apology to Piratecat

I said the Rams would win by 21. I was wrong. Very, very wrong. That was a very good game.

Wormwood, $200? Congratulations.

Reapersaurus, your theory doesn't explain why the Yankees didn't win in the World Series. Sure they're two entirely different sports franchises, but if any playoff was going to be fixed it would have been that one.

The Pats wanted to win. The Rams thought it was going to be an easy game, by halftime they realized they were in trouble and started to play but by then it was too late.

I hope everyone else won a fortune!

P.S. Anyone else see the interception-for-a-TD play?
That was a completely scripted play.
These are professionals, and that was telegraphed.

Yeah, if it is the interception I'm thinking of, that would be the one where Warner got hit as he threw the ball. Yep, can't figure out why that throw would go astray.

How does the Warner fumble that was run back for a touchdown by the Patriots fit into your "conspiracy"? You know, the one that was called back due to an unrelated penalty on the Patriots.

They sure were trying to hand the game to the Patriots there, calling back their touchdown so the Rams could score and all.

Almost every thing that has been said has been skewed to highlight the Patriots' doggedness and physical and mental toughness, while up-playing the Rams defeciencies or injuries (sorry, Warner's not hurt).

Then Brady isn't hurt either. Perhaps you missed the weeks and weeks of references to Warner's injured thumb (a recurring injury that has flared up through much of his career whenever something aggravates it).

I'm going with the "you need a tin foil hat" theory.

You can eat crow when I see you at GenCon, eh? :D

D'oh!

How could it be! The Pats kicked us in the groin.

Oh well. I was a very good game (at least the second half), and the Pats played very well.

Still would of like to see the Rams win in OT.
