My cat ate 3 or 4 cigarettes from a drawer where a friend was keeping them. To date, he has suffered no ill effects. And he ate the entire things, with filters.

Interesting that this came up - two weeks ago on CSI: Miami, they investigated a murder that ultimately was committed with a Nicotine based pesticide.

Until the show (see TV can educate!!!) , I had no idea of its toxicicity - with most people focusing on its carcinogenic aspects.

My father has been drinking coffee as long as I remember. He is currently 77 years of age. His preferred method of brewing it is to bring it to a temperature just short of boiling. If it boils, it sterilizes the water and gives it a flat taste. He drinks his tea the same way. I have NEVER EVER seen him injured by it.
