[ot] Ice or heat?

I had the same problem once and my mother told me to ice it but that I ought to see a doctor, just to be safe. When I got to the doctor he told me to use heat. I was surprised and told him, "My mother thought I should ice it." To which the doctor replied, "My mother always says use heat..."

I would find a new doctor....seriously...

Rest

Ice

Compression

Elevation

If after two days there is not an improvment, see a doctor.

Yep - and use an ice bucket - the pain is so good. Seriously, it will cut your recovery time in half.
