[OT] If you HAD to put yourself in a core class in real life you would be...

I suspect there will be plenty of bards here, as roleplaying is an oral tradition, and GMs are the crowd pleasers. On the other hand, I think there's more to the bard than just performing - after all, most classes can take points in the Perform skill - and I'm not a wandering jack of all trades.

interestingly, I would choose bard because I AM a wandering jack of all trades. OK, I don't wander so much, but my tendancy toknow a little bit about just about everything cries out for Bardic Knowlege. I sadly have not an ounce of musical talent, but I could always take Perform GM.

Unfortunately, bards don't get animal empathy which I DEFINATELY have, so I'd have to throw in some druid there too...

aristocrat/rogue..definately some politicalesque things as well as going for all out skills in bluff, sense motive, and intimidate :)

I'm the spitting image of a wizard. All other hard core science and math geeks are the same, and you know it. Characteristics:

CHA: The dump stat, obviously. Geeks are rarely charismatic, socially reclusive, haven't a hope at bagging that cheerleader like the Bard can, and probably forgot to take a shower during the entire exam period. ;)
INT: Usually pretty high. Duh.
WIS: Damn low most of the time. subjectively speaking. That litmus test that states that those with INT know what the rain is and those with WIS know to stay out of the rain applies very well to us.
STR: Low again. I'm a beanpole. :D
CON: Fairly low. See STR.
DEX: Varies. I can juggle and stuff.

Skills: highly geared towards knowledge of the natural universe. If our universe had magic, science would have a branch devoted to the study of it.

See? Pure wizard. :D

That's probably no accident though because the D&D wizard is modled after the alchemists of medieval europe -- they were prototype scientists.

Paladin/Expert. Advancing pretty much entirely in Expert now.

edit: Just don't ask my stats. It might be mathematically implausible, but I'd have to find a way to kill you somehow anyway.

I'd be a wizard/rogue.

I love to read (and read a lot), and I enjoy doing research - both things that scream "wizard" to me. On top of that, I've got a small roguish streak, and often like to approach things from unusual angles. I'm waaay too much of a wuss for any sort of martial class.

I also tend to pick up a wide variety of skills - without exploring most of them in depth - and love learning and relating wierd little tidbits of information - which says "bard." I left that out because I'm mostly tone deaf, get stage fright and hate playing music of any sort. ;)

Edit: OK, I'd be a wizard who leaves words out of his sentences.
