[OT] It's too damn hot!

I believe it has rained in New England nearly every day since the beginning of April, and I can think of maybe one day until now where the temperature broke 70.

I say bring on the heat. At least it's a change.

Um, what's the heat index supposed to represent?

I swear if this dog doesn't stop monopolizing the fan, Stick of Pain(j/k, I'd never do that to the Murph.)

See if you have never even heard of Heat Index you don't know hot. Heat Index is how hot it feels outside. Sort of like a Wing Chill.

HoE: I hope you don't think a 93 is a high index. We are supposed to hit 90 today with an index of near 100. We have already had a couple of days over 100 this year! We are quickly approaching our dry stretch. I will really be surprised if my area, Dallas/Fort Worth, sees a drop of rain from July 1 to September 15. And most of those days will be over 100. Ugh.

Airwolf: I know what you mean. I used to drive a Mustang Convert, had a Black top and Black leather. I sometimes was stupid enough to leave the top down while I was at work. Yeah that was a mistake. I miss those layers of skin from time to time. :)

My first two days of summer break have been humid and cool. I'm looking forward to some hot, tell you the truth...

And speaking of fire ants, I learned the weirdest thing a few weeks ago. In South Carolina I've seen these big fuzzy velvety ants, and the locals call them velvet ants. Well, I just read in an insect book that they're not ants -- they're wingless wasps!! Now that's weird!

Hmmm, I think Devner might have broke into the 80s once or twice this year. Life is rough.

Also even when it does get hot it's dry heat, so the swamp cooler keeps the house nice and cool.

Surely I don't miss living in Florida (or the Middle East for that matter, now Abu Dhabi, that was glub damned hot).

Highs in the 50's and 60's, lows in the 40's, cloudy and rainy for about the past week or two.

Perfect weather for mildew.

We have had the same problem here in Washington. We've had about two days without rain in the last month and a half. When the rain lets up it reverts to hot and humid (like right now), and then the heavy rain comes back later in the day accompanied by thunder and lightning.

I want the rain to stop but that does not mean that I want the heat either. Give me 65 degrees F and sunny and I am happy.

I could stand some heat, and while we're at it, can we have more than 2 hours of sun in a day? Here in Indiana, is has been so cool that we had to put the heat on last week. In June!

It's so damp we have mushrooms growing in our back yard. I'm afraid the dog will eat one and start hallucinating.

So give me 84 degrees and bright sunlight for a few days, to dry this state out, and warm it up too.l

Right now I'm watching our season passes to the local swimming pool go to waste.

Every day, our Control Room gets a faxed weather report from the Weather Service. Yesterday, the report said this at the end...

I} REMARKS: FRONTAL BOUNDARY IS BETWEEN PONTIAC AND BLOOMINGTON PRESENTLY. WITH TIME THE FRONT SHOULD SAG FURTHER SOUTHWARD DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THIS SCENARIO SHOULD KEEP SHOWERS AND STORMS TO OUR SOUTH REST OF THE WORK WEEK. BELIEVE IT OR NOT WE ARE ATTEMPTING A PATTERN CHANGE INTO A MORE SUMMER LIKE ORIENTED JET STREAM DURING THE NEXT WEEK OR SO.

It's good to know we've got top men working on those weather problems.
