Sorry, but Perry is definitely a bigger star than Hannigan.

How much money did American Pie 1 and 2 make again?
90210 has been off the air for what, 5 years now?

BTW, IIRC Conan usually gives the second segment to the bigger stars, doesn't he? Most talk shows do that. Keeps the viewers tuned in longer.

Well, one can also go by the length of the interview. Luke's was about twice as long as Aly's. They also never actually got around to talking about Buffy or anything Aly might be doing. It was a very chaotic interview and I'm not sure if that was Aly's or Conan's fault. Neither stuck to a topic, both fooled around and then the interview was over.

I haven't seen AP2 so I don't know if Alyson's role was bigger there, but I would definitely not give her too much of the credit for American Pie 1's success. Her role wasn't all that big.

Her role was much bigger in AP2. All the main women had about the same amount of screeen time it seemed.

Personally, I don't give a rat's crap about who goes first in a talk show. Anyone wants to make a case out that is simply putting their hands in turds.

As for Luke Perry, he's the title role character of Jeremiah on SCI-FI (yeah yeah, the crappy channel). He's also been on TV as an alum of Beverly Hills 90210 and a friend of Jason Priestley (another BH90210 alum), who recently is recovering from a nasty car crash on the race track. Say what you want of them, they're friends. Of course, he also starred in the movie version of Buffy with Kristy Swanson (soon to appear in a Playboy layout, not SMG).

That movie somehow inspired Joss Whedon to do the TV series, which features Alyson Hannigan playing a witch. BTW, I think she's dating that British fellow who portrayed Wesley on Angel.

Will anyone be surprised if someone adopts this as a sig quote? :D

Well, it wasn't a serious thread to begin with. More tyo the point of advertising that Alyson Hannigan would be on Conan that night, since we do seem to have quite a few Buffy fans that might want to watch it. It was just a way to get people's attention.

:D

Jeremiah is on Showcase, not Sci-Fi Channel.

And Buffy the Vampire Slayer has always been Joss' baby. It was his idea, and he wrote the script for the movie. He did not like the approach the filmmaker took, and wanted something darker and more scary, in addition to the light-hearted stuff. The movie did very poorly in the box office. 5 years after the movie, Joss got a chance to do Buffy the way he wanted to do it, and here we are.

Actually, I like the movie version, especially with Paul Reuben (aka Pee Wee Herman) and Rutger Hauer (who does not remember him from Ladyhawke?) as vampires, as well as Luke Perry.
