I am really shocked at how much my opinion of the GameCube has changed over the course of the last year. I thought that my Xbox would be used just as much as my PS2 but it's just gathering dust. And the GC is being used constantly for SSBM, Metroid and Resident Evil 0/1. I'd comment on RE0, but I started another thread for it here as to not hijack this one.

One an RPG note reguarding Metroid Prime: The environments are truely inspiring. There are SO many dungeon/exotic local type places that it drops my jaw almost every time I enter a new room. I know a few of these places will make it into my next D&D or Star Wars game. :D

The funny part about this is that Nintendo actually states it in the manual. For some reason, I found that funny. Kinda spoils the whole 'secret' aspect of it. But I guess it's a selling point....

Marketing Gimmick?

I'd guess they did it to inspire a few more people to buy everything involved.

I don't think it was ever supposed to be a big secret. Most gaming sites reported that the NES Metroid would be unlockable weeks before Prime was released. On top of that, it states pretty plainly right on the lower portion of the menu (after the 'Start' screen) Metroid Fusion Unlockables. And if you go into that screen, it tells you exactly what you have to do to unlock the goodies in Prime, which are the Fusion suit and the NES Metroid.

Well, I'm not saying that it was a huge secret because it was all over the web (what game-related secrets aren't?) but for those who do not use the web much I figure it would be a nice surprise. I guess I just wasn't expecting it to be right there in the manual and right up front in the game. I figured it would be a little more hidden.

Oh well, no big either way. :)

I understand. I was a bit surprised myself when I saw it just sitting there on the screen before I even started playing the game.
