[OT] My aching neck...

Does anyone here know any good ways to get rid of a REALLY sore neck? I'm talking 'feels like your getting stabbed whenever you turn your head even the slightest bit' kinda sore. I'm desperate.

Things I've tried that didn't work:
Tylenol
Hot/Cold Packs
Hot Shower
Beating myself with reeds.....no wait that's not supposed to be there..

Painkillers are for the weak. Take it like a man.

Otherwise, take some Motrin. That'd be my go-to drug for muscle pain, if I weren't such a stud.

600mg or 800mg of motrin 3 times a day. (that's 3-4 motrin, standard anti-inflammation dose) for 10 days.

Hot packs for about 15-20 minutes, twice a day.

Oh...and I am not a doctor...this is just what my wife does, cause she has a bad neck from years spent playing the violin.

I get this on occasion, it's probably a pinched nerve.

Though mine stemmed from being dropped on my head.

Wear a neck brace, maybe.

I recently suffered from a severe muscle spasm in my neck. WEnt to the hospital, and they hooked me up with some really great painkillers.

Aleve is my over-the-counter suggestion, but go to the ER.
