[OT] My uncle cleaned the house with Pepsi Blue

Ok, I confess. I made the whole thing up and it was infact inspired by that strip.

I read Real Life religiously and I must say that me and greg share a major love for the company.

I was originally gonna pull this gag on the RL forums but figured it would be funnier here.

GOTCHA!

18 million lab mice with brain cancer courtesy of aspartame can't all be wrong, and we've all heard the horror stories about the food colouring they use.

If those 18 million lab mice existed, sure. But as long as we're citing Snopes in this thread (Snopes being la creme de la creme of urban legends debunking Web sites), Aspartame isn't nearly as harmful as people claim.

You can also check out Urban Legends @ about.com's page on aspartame.

Don't believe everything you read :). Now, where's my Diet Coke?

Daniel

As a diabetic, my beverage choices and their consequences run about like this:

Coke - Leads to high blood sugar, blindness, impotence and amputation.
Diet Coke - Will give me cancer if I drink my body weight daily.
Water - Good for me physically but has no caffeine and leaves me pissed off and craving soda.

*Goes to the office fridge to crack open his 11:00 Diet Coke*

Oh, and by the way, Pielorinho, I'm sure you're aware of this but the lawyers for Fox News should be in contact with you about your sig by the end of the day.

No luck there, alas. Even regular Vanilla Coke is still pretty new around here. :(

I'm sure it'll come in time but I'm not sure if I'll manage to survive the waiting. ;)
Actually, if you want the newest in soda, got to your local gas station, they usually have all the new drinks.
BTW, Arthur, I'm ashamed of you trying to pass this story as true! We're supposed to be your friends!:D ...Paladinwife

Anyone know if the Coca-Cola museum in Vegas has different nationalities of Coke available to try? I know they have all the strange local US variants you can't easily find, and they have historical types as well, but I have no idea about international types.

It's about the only reason I would ever take a trip to Vegas, actually... although I'd be sure to catch a Blue Man Group performance while I was there chugging cola.

Hey, that's a good idea and might actually be worth a try. Very cool; thank you, Paladinwife! :)

Sometimes I put a slice of lemon in my Coke. Many people have been doing this for years. What I don't get is why Lemon Coke is only available in DIET. It's not such a big deal if I am at home with access to both lemons and Coke, but buying a bottle of Coke and a lemon while I'm out and about is not too convenient.

Out here in the land of cattle, people have been known to put peanuts in their coke...I don't get it.:) Paladinwife

I'm glad they don't. Lemon Pepsi tastes like pepsi with lemon dish detergent in it. I don't trust Coke to do it any better. I'll stick to the real lemons.

Besides, the best part is eating the lemon slice after you drink the coke.
