[OT-NBA] NBA Playoffs

Wooo! Go Mavs! Win in the first game! Woo!
Also, as was said before, Dirk owned the Spurs just as much as Duncan owned the Mavs. And yes, running down the clock and fouling on purpose is a viable strategy and is a papr of the game. The Spurs would have used it in the same situation.

Don't judge too much on game one. The Spurs may have just been rusty after having more rest.

I still like the Spurs in this one, and I think they'll go away strong.

As I said even before Game 1, it will be close and the decision will be in game 7. I think all 7 games will be really close - a lot of fun to watch for sure. So get ready for Wednesday and the next great game from both teams!

Go Mavs!

Ouch, Dirk out.

It looked like the Spurs were on their way to sealing it anyway, but I'd say that all but seals it. The Spurs are going to win the NBA championship.

I know, and it would still make me sick... one of the things that still forces basketball into the 'game' category for me, not the 'sport' category. Just because something is doesn't mean it should be. No replays or questioning of the refs' calls is a part of the game too. Again, a stupid part.

I hope Nowitzki makes it back in though. The notion that he has anywhere near the kind of dominance as Duncan is just funny. Then again the Mavs had a relatively easy series of Sac because we lost Webber. Maybe it's their turn to get rolled after losing the big man.

I wonder if this trend will continue in the finals too.. hmm..

Anyway, I wonder if Dirk is really out of the playoffs. Nelson loves to play mind games. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dirk come out to play for Game 4.

Not much of a mind game. Pop said that the Spurs are expecting that Nowitzki will play.

Won't matter anyhow. Spurs owned the Mavs in game 3 and will continue to own them for the next two games.

I would say the chance that he plays in game 4 is 25% - in game 5 like 50%.

But after the last two games the momentum shifted to the Spurs - I think game 4 will be something of a decision and if I had to bet my whole money on it I would say Spurs.

But I still hope that this will be a 7 game series. So let's see what happens tonight. I want a close game, something fun and thrilling to watch.

Go Mavs! Go Dirk!

Being a somewhat superstitious person, I've avoided this thread while my Pistons continued to win games and advance. Now that they've been soundly beaten by the Nets, I just want to post a few random thoughts on the Playoffs thus far:

** Thanks goodness the Lakers are gone! I just don't enjoy any team (except perhaps my own local clubs) winning so consistently. BORING!! Besides, Shaq has become an a$$ of late, and this will motivate L.A. to put more talent around he and Kobe.
** Too bad for the Kings that Webber was hurt. Same goes for the Mavs and Nowitzki at this point. Then again, I don't much like C-Webb, and I don't thing Dallas could have beaten the Spurs anyhow.
** Detroit should be ashamed that they blew two large 4th quarter leads at home to NJ. They got the style of play they wanted (and needed) to win, but couldn't seal the deal. If they win either of those games, it's an entirely different series. That said, the better team won.
** My Pistons have the 2nd overall selection in this year's draft, and lots of money to spend in free agency. Detroit will be a SERIOUS contender for the title next year!!
** Good luck to the fans of the remaining clubs :).
