As a Canucks fan, it's my God-given right and duty to feel bitter.
I'll give you guys that much. Never a cup in Canuckville. That sucks. I'm a Bruins fan at heart, so much so that even while being Texas born and bred I would cheer for the Bruins against the Stars any day of the week. Yip, even with Orr long gone, even with Borque so recently gone and even with dear old Sea Bass (Cam Neely) gone I'd cheer for the yellow and black any chance I got. Been a while since the B's have had a cup too, but longer for the 'Nucks (as in their entire expansion history).
The one thing I won't give Grey One is that defensive hockey and Neutral Zone trapping is bornig. It's bloody brilliant! I know I am an odd person in that regard but I much prefer a defensive game because it's usually a more physical game and it makes those scoring chances so dramatic. Gone are the days of lots of different guys scoring 40, 50 and 60 goals a season. Now is the era of the very defensive forward and offensive defenseman. I love seeing these huge guys with soft hands and blazing speed. For my dollar, this is the best era of hockey: the money is good, it's becoming more recognized, and by golly, it's physical and grinding! Of course, everyone has their opinions. For my predictions, and hopefully a good laugh, check the previous thread linked at the top of this page.
