[OT] NHL Playoffs continuation thread

:p As a Canucks fan, it's my God-given right and duty to feel bitter.

I'll give you guys that much. Never a cup in Canuckville. That sucks. I'm a Bruins fan at heart, so much so that even while being Texas born and bred I would cheer for the Bruins against the Stars any day of the week. Yip, even with Orr long gone, even with Borque so recently gone and even with dear old Sea Bass (Cam Neely) gone I'd cheer for the yellow and black any chance I got. Been a while since the B's have had a cup too, but longer for the 'Nucks (as in their entire expansion history).

The one thing I won't give Grey One is that defensive hockey and Neutral Zone trapping is bornig. It's bloody brilliant! I know I am an odd person in that regard but I much prefer a defensive game because it's usually a more physical game and it makes those scoring chances so dramatic. Gone are the days of lots of different guys scoring 40, 50 and 60 goals a season. Now is the era of the very defensive forward and offensive defenseman. I love seeing these huge guys with soft hands and blazing speed. For my dollar, this is the best era of hockey: the money is good, it's becoming more recognized, and by golly, it's physical and grinding! Of course, everyone has their opinions. For my predictions, and hopefully a good laugh, check the previous thread linked at the top of this page.

Well both games went into OT, with the Ducks again coming out the winner in the first series. (Kind of a shock for me...but oh well). For you sen fans, guess you got what you wanted. (Still not sure how the hell Broduer let in 3 goals but oh well.)

Go Ducks! I was wathing the game enter the 2nd overtime and my wife told me that this game had better not go into 5 overtimes or else I would be in trouble for watching them all. :D

She got her wish, and I was thankful to some god out there for it.

Go Sens! Although the Devils have a cool name, I gotta go for the team that hasn't been there yet.

He has the occasional bad game, never against the Flyers, but they do happen.

And let's not forget the Sens are a very good team, recent playoff flops not with standing.

I promised my wife I'd post her predictions:

Wild will win the West because the Ducks have terrible uniforms.

Sens will win the East because it takes far too long to drive through the state of New Jersey (causing my wife great consternation).

Wild will win the cup because they have a better name than the Senators.

Is she right for the wrong reasons or wrong for the right reasons? Time will tell!

Hey, the way this post season has played out thusfar her theories and reasonings are as good as any, Tom. :)

Sorry been on a mini-vacation,

DUCKS! DUCKS! DUCKS! DUCKS! DUCKS!

Jiggy is less than 4 minutes away from having the longest shoutout streak in NHL playoff history! This guy is just freaking amazing! And since the Devils lost the Ducks now have the fewest losses in the playoffs! They are now 9-2 in the playoff and 5-0 when a game goes into OT! Man am I starting to have Cup feelings! This could be the greatest Cinderella story! The 7th seeded Ducks sweep the Wings, beat the Stars, Wild and Sens/Devils to win thier first Cup! It would amazing!

Here is to hoping!

Wel, some day I hope that he'll have a bad game against the Flyers. (Course I think he saves them for the regular season when it comes to the Flyers.) But you are right, they are a good team. (Too bad the Flyers couldn't have come out and proved they were better.)

I feel for Teflon Billy and Greyone. I can't stand that snoozy trap system - it absolutely sucks. I'd have liked to seen Vancouver and Ottawa in the Stanley Cup finals, personally. Minnesota seems like a good story, until you recognize that the only reason they are where they are is the reason that hockey has not caught on like it should have.

Oh well, it could be worse guys - you could be a Penguins fan like me! Talk about a team that has ZERO chance to win another cup in the next 20 years. :(
