[OT] NHL Playoffs continuation thread

Well 1 game down and we have 1 shut out. Hope the Ducks can pull one out tonight, I'd like to at least see a good series.

What does everyone think of Patricks retirement? I hope the Avs can find a good goalie in the off season. And with the possiblility of Foresberg leaving as well...yikes!

Tis my worst fear!

Well the series is going about how I expected and hoped it wouldn't, oh well.

As for Roy's retirement, guess now it will be harder to argue against my assertion Broduer is the best goalie n the NHL.

1: I think the Avs will survive but I also think Patrick knew it was time for him to hang up the skates. He's done it all. (Well no gold medal but still). And while winning another Cup is nice, four of them is still quite an accomplishment. So while it does leave the Avs in a lurch in goal, I do think for hockey the end of an era means also that guys like Brodeur have that much more to prove now that he's gone.

2: While like you Wel, I hate the Devils with a fiery passion, this is pretty much how I expected the series to go. Now mind you I was hoping for more scoring on the OTHER side, but with two consectutive shutouts, Broduer is out playing Jiggy by a good country mile. (This isn't to say Giguare isn't playing well, just Brodeur is improving his game that much more) Course the defense in front has been very stellar. Regardless, if the Ducks have anything left to prove they'd better do it at home. Otherwise they can kiss their hopes of extending the series goodbye.

Yep...two games and two shut outs for the Devils. They haven't even been breaking a sweat. I hope the Ducks show up at home and get the series interesting with two wins at home.

Yeah, so far this has been a really dissappointing series. I'm thrilled about the teams that made it, but I was hoping for a much better showing from Anaheim. Jersey is beating them like the proverbial red-headed stepchild and making it look easy!

If the Ducks don't pull together and take the next two games, I don't see them making a comeback. Jersey has consistenly been one of the best teams in the NHL in recent years, and the Ducks rather lackluster offense just isn't going to cut it. I know the Ducks have what it takes (you can't win the Western Conference with 12-2 as a fluke) but they haven't played a team like Jersey in the playoffs and that could kill them.

Well, if either team wins, I'll be happy, but I don't want to see a Jersey shut-out.

DUCKS! DUCKS! DUCKS!

Well it looks like they found thier offense, with a little help from Brodeur. Thanks!

That OT goal was a sweet goal. I almost missed it, it happened so fast.

Here is to hoping they can tie the series on Monday!

Looks like the Ducks are back on track. Series tied 2-2!

How about this for the series:
1. First team to score has won each game
2. Four shutouts in four games
3. Two OT games

Looks like the series is heating up and could turn into a great series!

Actually you mean 3 shutouts in 4 games. But anyway:

DUCKS! DUCKS!

One for each back to back win! It is a 3 game series now! The Ducks look like they have found the Ducks that played the rest of the playoffs. It looks like a very promising 3 games! Although I would love to see the Ducks win the next 2 to win it a home, I think the Devils will win 1 more. I know I am going against my earlier guess of Ducks in 6, but don't see it happening. I don't thknk the Devils are the kind of team to lose 4 straight. Of course the Red Wings weren't either so who knows. I just know that since I have been able to watch them they have won so I am going to be watching the rest of the games!

Go Ducks!
