[OT] NHL Playoffs continuation thread

Show of hands: Who gave up on the Sens?

They are legit. With one game, winner take all, anything can happen. The Devils might win, or the Sens. My money (if I were a betting man) would be on the Sens, though. There is lots of jump left in their young legs and they definitely have the momentum. The Devils have got to be a bit crestfallen.

I think that if the Sens win the Cup (not to get ahead of myself here, just talking *if*) that Roger Neilson should get the Conn Smythe trophy, his speech before game 5 really lit a fire under the team and inspired them to play up to their talent. Without that speech they probably would have already been emotionally beaten.

Friday's game is probably going to be too tense for me to watch. Ah who am I kidding, win or lose, I've gotta watch.

Cheers

*raises hand partially*

The reason for the partially is because I didn't, and still don't, think they will win the series. I think the Devils will be mad as hell at losing thier first game at home in the playoffs and come out with a passion. Of course before hand they were all saying that they didn't want a game 7. So they might have shot themsleves in the foot and might be in too deep of a hole mentally to come out and win. Only time will tell. Anyway, the Finals schedule is set, and next Tuesday the Ducks hit the road to whoever wins tomorrow night.

Go Ducks!

/me raises hand.

Before last night, I could have promised you it was over for Ottawa. And that's my guy, Hoss, #18, that won us a Memorial Cup in Portland. Normally, I'd have a HARD time giving up on them. Try to put one by Martin Brodeur in Overtime? Say g'bye.

I'm just pumped that they've given themselves, and us, a second chance, and a GOOD one at that. Since I can't afford to make it, Corel CentRE better be freaking berserkoid tomorrow.

It was awfully noisy for Game 5, so much so that the players were commenting on it after game 6. We don't need "plastic hot-dogs" to fill the building with noise.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Unbelievable!

I can't believe the hockey I've been watching the past six weeks.
Five Game Sevens and Anaheim with two sweeps.

I gotta say, if Jersey wins tomorrow, there will be a lot of happy people in Anaheim. The Ducks have already shown that they can and will beat the "trap" defense.

On the other hand, if Ottawa can close the deal, I think their speed and experience will give them the edge and Canada will have their first Cup since 1993!

As for predictions, my gut tells me Ottawa will close the deal. The Devils have too many players that are prone to make bad penelties when the clutch is on.

Of course, as a Leafs fan, it will be a bitter pill to watch the Sens raise the Cup.

Hmmm, if Ottawa can actually pull it off, we might have a final that would be half interesting (that would be the Senators half...:)).

Hey, we owe the Leafs a big debt. You can't learn how to be a winner without learning about losing first. The Leafs taught the Sens everything they know about losing. ;)

Cheers

A DD final. This should be interesting. I will go with Broken Fang and say Ducks in 6. I think they will steal at least 1 of the first 2 games in NJ.

GO DUCKS!
