[OT] Online Empire Building Game what are you playing ?

My brother plays Planetarion, a friend of mine plays BlackNova. There seem to be several turn based Empire Building or Control a Nation Games in the internet now.

Are there any GOOD Medieval style manage your country games around ? You build up your economics and military and wage war against your neigbors ?

Space style seems to be more common. Which one would you say is the best around ? More playable or more fun ? Just want to play a little of being a dictator/leader. Give me sites and stories too.

(Any other online games I should know about but of different style ?)

Do a Yahoo or what-not search on ShadowBane. It seems to be a bit more in the way of a traditional MMORPG, but it seems promising to me. But then again, I have my eyes on a different MMORPG... mwaha.

The best game of that sort that I've ever played has got to be Utopia, at swirve.com.

You pick your race and personality, each of which have different bonuses and penalties, build up your province to be strong in magics, theivery, military, or a combination thereof, and with the other provinces in your kingdom, can wage war on others. Its a great experience, and takes a lot of strategy to excel in.

Each 'age' lasts a few months, and then restarts, occasionally with some slight changes. The current age started a few weeks ago, and will run through October, though one may join at any time.

Personally, I got fed up after all of the multis in the game. It was fun for the people, finding a good kingdom is hard, as Utopia itself is pretty lacking IMO.

Sigh, we were the Killer Tomatoes, but an alliance of multis will hurt any independant kingdom, no matter how good its players are.
