(OT) Painted Reaper Minis on Ebay

Gothmog

First Post
Hello all,

I just wanted to bring to everyone's attention that I have put eight painted Reaper minis on Ebay for auction. They are all character minis, and I decided to list some figs after the local gamestore owner told me I should try listing them on there. I have won several local painting contests before, so I'm not some hack trying to pry money from your hands. :D

Also, if you have a specific character mini (whether its Reaper, GW, Confrontation, etc) you would like painted, I'd be happy to work out some kind of arrangement. Thanks!

If you want more views for your items you should work "Warhammer" into your title. Some people have reported some painters using "Warhammer" in the title and had auctions closed since the auction wasn't technically for Warhammer products. But painters have gotten around this by mounting the minis on Warhammer square or round bases (which in my and others' humble opinions, looks better and is more stable). The auction then contains a Warhammer product and can contain the word "Warhammer" in the title without violating any of Ebay's rules.

Stop using your camera flash! Those pics are horrible. There are some tutorials on taking digital pics at http://www.coolminiornot.com If you can sell those for $10, then I can sell mine for $20, maybe more if I take bad pictures! :)

Also, this post belongs in the marketplace forum or in the art gallery and minis forum (yeah, they got lumped together), but I'm not a moderator so you're free to neglect the system like everybody else.

Good luck.

I don't think that they look "expertly" painted, though they are competently done. There's a distinct lack of the aspects of style and color that mark an expert.

I'm not trying to criticize, but I don't think you'll get $10 each for these.

THIS is expertly painted.

Yes indeedy, but I'd expect to spend more than $10 for that fig. ;-)

I agree with this 100%. I cant tell much about the mini's because the flash is washing out the detail in everything that isnt metal. I still havent found a good technique that really captures a mini; though my latest is to go outside in the afternoon and try and catch some natural sunlight. (The drawback there is that you get really sharp shadows and lose the detail therein.)

thats streaching it kinda thin there. Its the painted mini you are pawning, the base is being used as a thinly vieled attempt to draw the attention of 'hammer heads.

From Ebay.com's rules& safety[safeharbor]
Misleading Title Policy

Make sure your title accurately describes only the actual item(s) you are offering for sale.

eBay Guideline:
If your title contains a word or phrase that does not seem to belong, make sure it is clear from
your description why you included that word or phrase in the title.
If a bidder can't tell what items you are offering from the title of the listing, the title is
misleading and is not permitted on eBay.

Example
The title "Louis Vuitton Handbag, Cartier" is misleading and not permitted on eBay, even if you are
including a Cartier item as a bonus gift with purchase of the handbag, because it is unclear as to
whether you are offering two items from your title.

Warning
Listings containing misleading titles may be ended early by eBay. Multiple violations of eBay's
Misleading Title Policy could result in the suspension of your account.

The example is the same as doing "Reaper Hellhound Warhammer"

Nice minis, but I would only buy monster minis, since i have one[hundred] too many bipedals.

For Sealinfg a painted mini you may want to do:
>two coats clear gloss for protection
>Then one or 2 coats of krylon matt finish to kill gloss.

do not use Citidel colour's spray sealents. They use the same tube in the canning factory for white paint as they do the sealant. So the first can each batch isgonna be "frosty" People have had thier paint jobs ruined by this idiocy.
