[OT] Phone Booth

Eh -- I thought it was enjoyable for the sake of an evenings enntertainment but nothing to keep my mind thinking about it beyond that.

There was one plot aspect I think was a loop hole. Without making this a spoiler, I'll simply say there was one point when he could use his cell phone without talking into it yet when doing that same thing earlier, he could not (for reasons I'll leave alone).

While this has nothing to do with me liking / no liking the movie, I was a little dissapointed to see Katie Holmes relegated to "the other woman" role...

I did like the characters though -- they each showed intelligence and quirks... so it was neat to watch some of the interplay between the people....

I was also impressed that a 90 minute (?) movie about a man in a phone booth could still be interesting through the end. ;) (by premise alone, it really seems like "wtf were they thinking ;) )

The second time he used the cell phone he specifically crouched in the corner of the booth to shield the cell from the prying eyes of the sniper scope. Also the sniper was able to hear the annoyed dispatch officer loudly requesting clarification of the call the first time. The second time he used the cell the two people who listened on the other end made sure not to speak into it.

Yeah, I caught the crouching down part. So I could understand the reason it was not visually caught. But didn't the wife say speak when she first answered? It was a hello, followed by his name and a question like what's going on.... ? Or am I remembering it incorrectly (which I could very well be) ?

I liked this movie, it was much better then I expected. Keifer Sutherland did a great job as the voice on the other end of the phone. I thought he was both sinister and entertaining.

Donald

Heya:

Halfway through the movie, the person I was with leaned over and said, "The sniper is Donald Sutherland." ;)

Take care,

At the end of the movie when Kiefer Sutherland is mentioned in the credits a lady a few seats over in the row in front of me stood up and yelled, "WHAT!? The sniper wasn't Jeremy Irons!? And here during the entire movie I thought I was listening to Mufasa's voice!"

Oh my. If only I were joking....

I can top that one. I was recently in a comic shop where a middle-aged woman was singing the praises for the recent Daredevil movie. She said the best part of the movie was the villain Bullseye, played by that handsome Colin Powell.
