[OT] School Started Today

I always thought it was strange that the two most prevalent occupations (as far as I have seen, anyway) among gamers are technical fields or education.

Heh, and here I am trying to decide what to do when I get my degree in a few years: Become a professor, or work as a programmer.

Classes start at SLU on Monday, Aug 26. Worst part of it is getting back into a regular sleeping schedule (8:00 am classes, yuck!), or maybe having to carry nine books to class.

And a big thanks to all the teachers/professors/educators out there for putting up with us Hellians! We appreciate it.

Woo hoo...week one is over! Wife is going out of town and I get to stay home and watch the girls tomorrow. :) Pretty decent group of kids (Middle school). Hope everyone has a great year.

I started my last year of Seminary on Tuesday. I took a year off last year so I have to get use to the early morning classes again.

Good luck to everyone this year,
Lav.

I feel lucky. We don't start until 9/2. The kids come back on the third.

I did start Football practice last week. It may not be ALabama hot but I've already lost 5 lbs in the NJ heat. Coaching Rocks, 7A to 7P for about $7 an hour.

Wow, jobs. I remember those.

(sigh).

My daughter starts Kindergarten in a couple of weeks, anywho. My son's in daycare year-round.

I must be missing something...you are not working, but your son is in daycare year-round? Say what?

School started last week here.

I work in a supermarket deli; Sunday afternoon through evening is the busiest time of the week as folks get something for their kids lunches.

Also, work schedules changed as some employees returned to school and needed different hours or left until holiday breaks.

It was surprising to me how many high school students had tattoos and holes punched in their bodies for decorative purposes. :)

My wife is still working. I don't know what the daycare situation is like in LA, but the waiting lists are absurd around here...and while I haven't had a fulltime job for some time, I have had temp assignments. As it is, I had to pass up a 3-day job this week, to watch my son. Interviewing, networking, researching and hunting down leads is hard to do with two little ones. Not to mention meeting with loan agents and creditors to try and protect everything you've spent years building, as it comes crashing down around your feet. :(

Sorry, it's been a lousy year....pardon my bitterness.
