[OT] Talisman for... $75??

Keep in mind two things:

1) General Inflation - When Talisman was released, game books cost $15.00 for hardcovers and boxed sets. Milk cost $1.00 for a half gallon. :)

2) Talisman had several expansions available for it during its run. If they included the expansions, that would definitely be worth $75.00.

Having never played it, but hearing the nostalgia of several old gaming groups, I just may be interested in picking this up and trying it out.

And, let's not forget that it's produced by Games Workshop. A company known far and wide for keeping princes right on, or just over what the market will tolerate.

Don't take this as a knock on their products, I love them. But I've been doing warhammer 40K for three years and seen a price rise in their products just about every year. $25.00 for 8 plastic mini's when a tourni army could need 72 minimum gets real steep real fast.

Well considering that I shelled out in excess of $75 when I bought the game and three(four? that damn CRS) expansions ten years ago, if this contains even a few of the expansions I will be willing to buy it. I really wish I knew what happened to my Talisman stuff. I must have lent it to someone. Oh well.

I would be interested in getting it, but $75 is too much for a game that only comes with 5 or 6 miniatures. The WH and WH40k boxed sets cost that much but they come with around 40 figures or so.

Hmm. My group was fortunate enough to have all of the supplements, even Dragon. I heard the price on that one was insane online.

Having played the second release, we just didn't like it as much. Yes, there was plenty of errata from the original version, but it still had a wonderful appeal to it.

Of course we now look at it with dread, knowing that a single game will likely take us seven or eight hours...

Talisman was pretty fun, but I don't think it's $75 worth of fun. Use that money to find a good copy of Space Hulk on ebay instead - now THAT'S a great GW board game.

This will be a reprint of the last, large-box edition. I believe that makes it 3rd edition. (NO, NOT 3.5!) It will not contain any expansions. AND this is a very limited one-time print run.
