There is something to be said for the Old School of Justice. In the good old days...

They might have buried such an individual up to her neck in the town square for a few weeks, allowing any passerby to kick, club, or smash her head with a boot, tree limb, or brick. This has the advantage of letting the community at large express their estimate of her "value" to the society.

Or in a society ruled by clan vendettas and justice by revenge, the Elder leading the clan would be so shamed to have blood relations with such a unsalvageable twit, he would hand her over to the angry relatives of the victim, commanding that her own family never speak her name again. That is the kind of thing that would bring shame on a family for 3 generations...

The woman deserves punishment for failing to render aid and covering up the fact.

But honestly, I don't feel for the homeless. After all, I'm the kind of guy who petitioned his local representative to oppose any homeless shelter near his residential area where the kids play.

What the heck are you talking about!!!! Surely you feel for this fellow who laid inside this windsheild for days, slowly bleeding, starving and dying of thirst, screaming for help, trying to pull himself through. It's not like the guy was attacking her to steal money here, she was drunk driving and hit him on the road. Homeless or not, there are laws governing what you can do to people. Or do you feel that because someone lost out and was forced from their homes, that's it's okay for you to indescriminantly kill them?

Evil isn't cool

Everytime someone posts one of those "What's your alignment?" threads, and people seem almost proud to post how they're evil, this is the kind of story I think about. Not that I think everyone who posts that they're evil is like this person, but that they really have no concept of what true evil is. This story gives me chills up my spine.

My good Colonel, you and I see eye to eye on this one. At some point, being "bad" became cool, but those who are "bad" don't know what sort of sick evil they're playfully fawning over and faux emulating.
