[OT] What is the best selling beer in your country?

Yam, Pilsner Urquell is really good, sad that I nearly forgot that (hmm, perhaps because I got totally drunk from it when I was in the Czech Republic ;) ). I've seen Pilsner Urquell in a bar in Santa Barbara, quite surprising.

Yes, Pilsner is selling quite good even in US...

But Radegast is better... ;) It is so creamy beery taste... :o)))

Ah, Beer, One of My Favorite Subjects!

Favs...

(1) Guinness, especially when sipped at the end of the the brewery tour in Dublin:D! I definitely prefer Guinness Draft to the "Pub Draft" cans and the old bottled Guinness was atrocious. I haven't tried the new bottled formula.

(2) For summer drinks, I like both Pete's Strawberry Blonde and Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat.

(3) When I was stationed in Germany (State of Hesse) there was a local brew called Almunster that I was quite partial to. I actually smuggled about 15 cases of it back in my personal effects when I returned to the states and threw a monster bash for my old high school and college buddies.

I generally detest most American mass produced beers (Budweiser and its ilk), but am always up for trying a new microbrew (stouts and ambers, please). I am much prefer lager and ales to pilsner. Didn't like pilsner in the old country and certainly like it even less in the states:p!

Darraketh - by your continued presence on this thread, I'm dubbing you "ENWorld's most likely alcoholic"

Oh sure just because I start a thread about everyone's favorite breakfast beverage I'm labeled for life. ;)

It's great to see the Asian beers finally getting mentioned here. Most of the Asian beer I have tried has been very good, though IMHO they taste very similar - clean and crisp ( Sapporo- Kirin -Tsing Tsou - Singha )

One of the things that I liked about Japan was that you could buy mini kegs from a vending machine. You could walk down the street drinking from the little keg but it took two hands to hold it.:)

My favorite domestic: 3 way Tie between Sierra Nevada, Anchor Steam ( san Francisco ) and Red Hook's ESB.

I enjoy each of these. As a matter of fact I had a Sierra Nevada Porter yesterday.:D

Sounds like your source has a problem with Anheuser-Busch, to me.

There is no formaldehyde in Budweiser, domestic or abroad, nor has there ever been. Also, for fresh Bud to reach the Philippines from its closest brewery takes approximately seven days.

Well what can I say, it was 1982 and you hear all sorts of tales in the USN.:)

After reading this thread, I went and bought myself some Pilsner Urquell. $10.79 for a six pack, but it's worth every penny. It's like an orgy of barley and hops tickling my tastebuds with pleasure.

That settles it, I'm moving to the Czech republic. :)

While the subjects come up - some of my players brought a six-pack of Tasmanian Bitter (I think, could be wrong) to the Post-game BBQ last weekend. Yet another fine beer to be added to the Australian corral.

Redhook recently discontinued bottle distribution of my current favorite, Redhook Hefe-Weizen. I can still get it in kegs (the larger 1/2 barrel size only), but that’s a bit more of an investment in consumption than I am willing to make, at this time.

That makes five of my favorite beers in a row, that have been discontinued...

Please don't start buying Pyramid Hefe-Weizen! I'd hate for that to be discontinued too...:p

The best beer ever? Coors Extra Gold!!

<-------

I may be a bit partial due to the fact that I can (and do) stop by and get three free beers any day but Sunday :D

Mmmmm Coors lab

Truth be told though, I like the meals-in-a-can a.k.a. Guinness

Imports? I'd also go with Kilkanees(sp?) And the only reason it was imported is because I brought some back from canada myself

They also brew Molson here, (along with all of the Coors products of course, ie Killians, Blue Moon, Winterfest(sometimes))

UK resident:

1. Not sure, probably Carling.
2. Most of the British lagers are so-so compared the good imports...um, yeah Carling is OK.
3. Budvar or Stella Artois.
