[OT] What is the best selling beer in your country?

Personally, I find Beer to be less than tastefull (Vodka is my favorite).... but what I do find funny is how people will look at regional beers from other parts of the country as being "good", but would never look at the stuff if it was "local" - I guess familiarity breeds contempt.

Bud/Bud light is definately number 1 Miller is the number 2 brewrey in the states. Coors is 3rd.

A little bit of history about Coors - during the seventies, Coors was another of those local/regional brews like Rolling Rock or Voodoo - and at the time was considered a "crafted" beer. Well due to some marketing and good word of mouth, they have been to able to transform themselves into the a mass market beer. (Similar to what Sam Adams is doing now) - but the truth of the matter is that it is the same beer that was available 20 years ago........

1. Unfortunately it would be Budweiser or Coors Light :(

2. There are so many microbreweries it's hard to say...Moylan's Kilt Lifter comes to mind. Of the larger breweries, I would say Sam Adams.

3. Guiness followed by a Boddingtons, followed by another Guiness :D

Baradtgnome, my first experence drinking singha was while eating Thai, goes quite well together. Also, for a yellow beer, it sits better with me than bud.:D

I myself am unable to consume Bud without getting ill, literally. I do not find it tasty either. No offense to the Bud fans.

Although I have had interesting brews in Thailand, Egypt, Greece, Spain; I still favor the ones from Bavaria, Belgium, England, Ireland and our local USA micro brews.

But hey, anyone who likes to tilt a pint can't be all bad. ;)

Right now I'm having a Pete's Wicked "Summer Brew." They are blowing them out at the grocery store since summer is about gone. The label says. "Refreshing Lager with Natural Lemon Flavor." I can't recommend it. But it reminded me of another beer I had once.

I believe it was named "Cave Creek Chili Beer." Each bottle had a chili pepper in it. I really liked it.

Has anyone had a beer bottled with an unusual ingredient? How about blends like a black and tan?

Well around here we get odd brews periodically.

Most summers Monteith's produce a summer ale which is a spiced beer. McCashin's produced Blonde Macs, a wheat beer flavoured with orange and cardaman. You can also buy orange, wildberry and peach flavoured beers.

Most of these beers are limited runs though. They're good while they last :-D

1. Ringnes (Norway) - a sort of standard beer that tastes piss but, hey it's cheap.

2. My favourite national beer would be Hansa - it's a light beer
with a good, round taste.

3. My all-time favorite is Newcastle Brown Ale.
