I think it looks kinda bulky for running around a battlefield.

Actually I think it weighs less than a M4A1 w/M203 Grenade Launcher, and night scope (It works out cheaper as well).

Plus the thing can fire timed mini-grenades linked to the built in range finder so they can go off next to a target without needing to actually hit them. Hence you can hit people hiding behind cover.
