[OT] What's your favorite song(non-gaming)?

Hmm...couldnt say a single song. Anything by Howling Syn, Crux Shadows, Inkubus Sukkubus, Disturbed, Taproot, Metallica, and some others (only heard a little of Iced Earth, but i liked it, same w/ Blind Guardian, id d/l some, but my comp is screwed). Probably one of my favs is Inkubus Sukkubus - Pagan Born.

If you like some heavy stuff, look up Zilch on your favorite download program. Its Japanese import (rare and expensive, $40 dollars for the CD!) but its awesome industrial/metal (and it IS in English) Reccommended is "Whats Up Mr. Jones" and "Psyche" but any of the tracks on the CD are excellent (The CD is called 3, 2, 1...)
Too bad the lead singer died, they could have been huge in America. :-(

I'd never heard of Maiden though...

Here's hoping St. Anger will be better than some of the later material Metallica released.

BTW: BoC's original is just as good as Metallica's cover of Astronomy, as long as you get the original from Secret Treaties, not Imaginos.

Also try: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds: Let Love In (esp Red Right Hand, that song is sooo cool. Metallica fans will recognize "Loverman" also)

4. Seemann by Rammstein, from Herzeleid

Der beste Seemann war doch ich...

That is a nice song. As for my personal faves, I'm gonna hafta say, first and foremost, "Bartender" by Dave Matthews Band (I get chills whenever I hear this, really), followed by "3 Libras" by A Perfect Circle, "I Should've Lied" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, and "Gimme Shelter" by the Stones.

Anything by Kiss....
"God of Thunder"
"Unholy"
"War Machine"

Mate, you should see my KISS collection. Every album, even a rare 1986 Australian only one...

To the list above I'll add Rock and Roll all Nite, Creatures of the Night and Psycho Circus.

However, my favourite song at the moment is "All the Things She Said" By Tatu.

Albums (more so than individual songs) that are almost a permanent part of my CD player: Throwing Copper by Live, Aenima by Tool, Siamese Dream by the Smashing Pumpkins, The Joshua Tree by U2, Heathen Chemistry by Oasis, Celebrity Skin by Hole, A Place in the Sun by Lit and Take Off Your Jacket and Pants by Blink 182.

Faves of 2002:

Wilco, "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot"
Flaming Lips, "Yoshimi vs. the Pink Robots"

Anticipated in 2003:

Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks, "Pig Lib"
new Yo La Tengo album
Beatles "Let It Be" re-released sans Spector's strings

'The Perfect Drug' by Nine Inch Nails.

So many others waver in and out as my current 'favorite' - songs by Radiohead, Tool, Finger Eleven, other NIN songs - but I always come back to this particular one.

And mysteriously not on S&M. How did that happen?

A tragedy indeed. I've wondered this myself.

If someone had asked me which songs would have worked with an orchestra the best, Unforgiven would have easily made the top 5 on my list.

It's a LOT better than Fuel anyway....

Fuel is, in my opinion, one of the few Metallica songs that "says nothing" and is in effect one of my least favorite of theirs. Of course, it is still better than 90% of what you hear on the radio nowadays so go figure. :p
