[OT] What's your favorite song(non-gaming)?

Totally agree with Ashrem.

Lots of Metallica's new songs just seem to be filled with some kind of nonsensical imagery that doesn't mean anything. Not to say that there aren't a few gems, like Until It Sleeps, King Nothing, Hero of the Day, Low Man's Lyric (even though it's not metal), and, even though most people hate it that I've talked to, I'm partial to Unforgiven II. Not in the same league as the original, but still a very fine song.

Fuel et al just sound like heavy party music.

I hope that Load/ReLoad was just an experiment phase for them. I think that they're both full of good music, but it just didn't feel like Metallica, and if I want to listen to blues there are far better options.

As far as Unforgiven not being on S&M... I was stunned as well. All I could do was rationalize, "You don't tamper with perfection." That's not a satisfactory answer since we could have gotten an uber cool version, but it's the only thing that let's me sleep at night:D

Faves of 2002:

Wilco, "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot"
Flaming Lips, "Yoshimi vs. the Pink Robots"

Great minds think alike :D, both are incredible albums.

All-time favorite song though.. hmmm..
tossup between Blur's "This is a Low, and The Grateful Dead's "China Cat Sunflower".

Anything by Matt Good, pretty much. As for my current absolute favorite song, that'd have to be Running For Home by the aforementioned band. Very good stuff. It's rare that I can just pop in any CD by an artist and love all the tracks on all the CDs without skipping anything.

Of all time I think 'Sympathy for the Devil' by the Rolling Stones is my favorite.

Theres too many others to choose out of all the electronic, trance, 80's rock, gothic and death metal albums Ive got lying around.

I think my most favorite contemporary songs would have to be Front 242's 'Headhunter' or Sisters of Mercy's 'Amphetamine Logic' and both have a lot of memories for me. Or maybe 'Bela Lugosi's Dead' by Bauhaus...

Better stop now or I'll rant until my fingers bleed :D

Arghhhh......favored song......a hard one indeed....

It is a tossup beetween "My Own Savior" by Iced Earth, "The Wicker Man" By Iron Maiden and "Warriors Of The World United" By Manowar.......and heck "Wherever I May Roam" by Mettalica....

Heck........I'll go with "Warriors Of The World United".......Manowar rulz!!!

Hail And Kill!!!

Best song is hard...

Some would be:
Roads - Portishead
Genesis - VNV nation
Novelty - Joy Division
Everything hapens to me - Chet Baker

It´s unfair, I should write a best 100 :)

Favourite song, eh? No point for me telling you, none of you will have heard it anyway.

I mean none of you.

Nope.

No point for me telling...

:D

BT - Flaming June

Best song ever in the history of the universe. Only other one that comes close is the first song from Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells 2.
