No problems there Paladin with the Barrack Hoes: I'm 19 years old and basically sterile. I shoot blanks so ya know what? If they were to ever say it was my kid, they'd be so full of it.
Hey, when I was 19 I thought I was sterile too. I now have 2 beautiful baby girls. GET TESTED just in case. Trust me.

What other cult besides the Military lets you be the first kid on your block with a confirmed kill?
The Branch Davidians? Bad Paladin, bad. :D

And I haven't just decided because Toni tore my heart out to go into the military. I've been thinking about it for awhile. But now I've decided to go balls out into this.
Good.

My eyesight is too bad to be a pilot, methinks. I wear thick glasses.
Yeah, you're screwed on being a pilot then. But, like Meepo said - you can always tell them you're a pilot.

And the idea of marriage at my age makes me sick.
Me too, and I'm 29. Just don't tell my wife! :D Ouch, hey quit hitting me! Ouch - somebody hel...

One guy on another message board I frequent has said (to people asking similar questions):
"Go into the Air Force. I mean, it's not like you're in the military."

However, if yuo HAVE been thinking about this for a while, and you REALLY REALLY REALLY want to commit four years of your life (four possibly volatile years) to being in the military then go for it.

What do you plan to do in your life?
Will the military (either through training/schooling funded by or directly given by) help you fulfill these goals?
What branch will do this best?
What branch will give you the best time while in the service?

Do you like to swim? Consider the Navy or Coast Guard. Want to travel? Try the Army or Navy. Want to be one of the few and the proud? Go for the Marines.

And...
What the finnigit were you thinking going back to the same girl twice, after you knew there was something messed up with her?

good point on the AF Paladin. I can always say I'm a pilot. Here's hoping that if I join I get stationed in Japan(is it true they love ANY Soldiers over there?:o Here's hoping).

I don't particularly like to swim.

And the finnigit was this: I really am in love with her. She doesn't love me.

Here's to God giving me a good solid shot in the crotch on that play!!!

I just can't understand why someone would willingly submit to being used, abused, insulted and degraded.

And some people submit to it unwillingly ;)

Of course hard to explain, but they put it to us this way: if you aren't fit to take orders, you aren't fit to give them. That I believe.

One of the important things I learned in the army was that I can endure much more hardship than I thought possible. When I thought I was done for sure, I learned to know that I was actually just half done (with the help of ever helpful instructors, of course). That sort of thing gives me confidence in "normal" life. And anyone can use more confidence, eh?

Either Writing, or, and people laugh sometimes because I'm so much smaller than the average ones you see, Personal Security/Bodyguard.

All the better that they laugh. You'll save money on clothing--no special orders for you!

Sorry to hear of unrequited love. Blind she is yes...

(four possibly volatile years)

Think about this sentence hard. I'm not saying don't do it, but the future is the future, and therefore unknown. But, I suppose you aren't to worried about arab or eco- or whatever terrorists being willing to enlist.

Well, I'd just say no to all of them, personally. I don't want to kill or be property, and that's what military life is ultimately all about.

Just the opinion of a bleeding heart...

I suppose you vote Demopublican also, eh? For fascist politicians like Bush and Clinton?

I don't want to kill or be property either, but isn't that the ultimate goal of people like you: a disarmed, brainwashed weak population of Americans ready to be ruled for however long...?

Again, are we talking about military service or marriage?

Military service, I hope! ;)

It's just that around here military service is mandatory for all males. 6-12 months of service with minimal pay (around 3.5 $ a day, LOL!) (minimum wages in finland are aroun 5.5$ an hour!)

Due to the nature of conscription army the discipline is very strict here. Of course doing 12-hour days with ridiculous pay get's on peoples nerves.. but in the end I considered it a year well spent. Only the first 6 months were bad. (Then I got to insult, degrade and command my own squad of fresh conscripts, and it wasn't that bad.)

I would also recommend the Air Force.

Two of my friends are former Air Force, and they liken it to working for a large corporation. The pay is decent, the benefits are top notch, and the job affords many opportunities to the ambitious and talented.

Best of luck.

ps. I really hope this advice reaches you before this thread collapses, courtesy of people who should damn well know better.

Thank you for ensuring that if P-kitty isn't ALREADY hunting for that "close thread" button, he is now.
