Darn it, I will step up to the plate. The Two towers will be better. I have only read the box for LoTR game box and I always fear the Play the PC style game. Every game of this style I have played stunk.

TT looks more like a Baldurs Gate style, which I enjoyed.

I tried the Fellowship of the Ring demo for a laugh... a complete joke. The demo's graphics were a total wreck on my machine [P4 2.0ghz, 512Mg 800mhz RDRAM, GeForce Ti4600, WinXP, bleah, bleah, with all latest drivers, etc.. and even this machine is getting long in the tooth for my tastes :) ], so I have doubts about the game play being any good.

And yeah, TT does look like BG.. and while I enjoyed BG/BG2/IWD/PoT and even NWN [although much weaker storyline], a BG-esque clone on a console where all I have is a gamepad? Nah, don't think so... would prefer to watch a little TV while working my way through an amazing RPG game. :D

Two Towers

Obviously this is a subjective question, however having played both and had to choose which one to review for publication I heartily recommend the Two Towers game. It is not only fun to play and drop dead gorgeous, I think it keeps the game simple and captures the spirit of adventure and peril of the story..

Fellowship has some glaring problems, no matter the platform. I think it was rushed by the developer to compete with Two towers and capitalize on the movies. Sierra has had the LoTR book conversion rights for quite a few years and this is the first product they have actually turned out..
